Professionals

Garsington Opera is well-known and respected for the opportunities it offers to emerging artists, creatives and technicians as well as the excellence of our productions. Now, with the opening of Garsington Studios, we are growing the number of opportunities, offering a dynamic and supportive training environment with our expert staff and facilities.

Artistic Traineeships

The traineeships are entry-level positions designed to provide individuals with hands-on experience and the skills necessary to successfully pursue a professional career in the field for which they are training. Each season, Garsington Opera currently offers one Director, Conductor, Music Staff/Repetiteur and Vocal leader traineeship in partnership with Spitalfields Festival.

Production Arts Traineeships

These traineeships offer paid, introductory vocational training and career development opportunities in the Lighting and Stage Departments. Taking on a crucial role as part of the GO festival season team, individuals will gain knowledge and develop skills ‘on the job’ as part of the department teams; preparing and contributing to a full production process including working on performances. In addition, mentoring is available to help prepare trainees for employability and general training for working in the theatre and events industries.
