Interval & Dining
The 90-minute long dinner interval is a central feature of an evening at Garsington Opera and there are a variety of dining and picnicking options available for you to make the most of your visit.
Enjoy the complete fine-dining experience in our restaurant, choose a delicious catered picnic hamper, or pick one of our many spots around the site and bring your own picnic.
Our caterers also offer a number of pre-performance dining options to enjoy in the late afternoon.
The details of the 2025 menu will be released in the new year.
Dining and picnic space bookings are made directly with Garsington Opera and can be added to your order once you receive confirmation of your ticket allocation.
Dining Spaces
Boundary Room Restaurant
Our glass fronted restaurant, looking out over the iconic Wormsley Cricket Ground. Afternoon tea can be pre-booked or purchased on the night, space permitting. Interval Dining reservations must be pre-booked.
Catered Picnic Tents
Positioned bedside the Boundary Room Restaurant, a complimentary place in these tents overlooking the Wormsley Cricket Ground is provided with each catered picnic booking. If you wish to enjoy your picnic in the Deer Park, an additional tent booking can be made when completing your booking.
Deer Park Tents and Tables
Our Deer Park is the centre of activity on site and has a wide selection of spaces available for pre-performance and interval picnicking. Bring your own picnic or book a catered picnic to be delivered to you. Your reservation covers the full evening from the site opening until the end of the opera.
All of our Deer Park tents and tables can be added to your booking at the checkout stage when paying for your tickets once you have received confirmation of your allocation.

Outdoor Picnicking Spaces
Free of charge, unreserved
Around the Deer Park you will find numerous places to settle – pick a table by the beautiful lake, find chairs on the Champagne Lawn, or set up a picnic blanket on the grass. Outdoor spaces are weather dependant and for this reason cannot be reserved or paired with our catered picnics.

Table in a Shared Tent
£5 per person
Reserve a table in one of our shared tents in the Deer Park for your self-catered or Feasts picnic. Spaces priced per person. A number of unreserved tables will be available free of charge in the Shared Tents each day on a first-come-first-served basis.

Small Upper Terrace Table
£10 per person | Capacity 4 people
Enjoy your picnic in the close proximity of the auditorium with elevated views over the Deer Park and Chiltern hills beyond. Spaces priced per person.

Large Upper Terrace Table
£10 per person | Capacity 5-8 people
A larger space on our elevated terrace with panoramic views of Wormsley and the surrounding area. Spaces priced per person.

Enjoy the privacy of an individual tent in the Deer Park for your pre-performance drinks and interval picnic.

Medium Private Tent

A larger individual tent in the stunning Deer Park with adjoining service area for picnic preparation or private caterers.

The Granary
Capacity 12 people
Nestled in the beauty of the Opera Garden, the Granary is a unique private space bursting with character.

Chilterns Tent
Capacity up to 60 seated
For larger parties wishing to dine in a private tent overlooking the glorious Wormsley cricket ground.

Cricket Pavilion
Capacity up to 10 seated
The mock-Tudor thatched pavilion, designed by architect Nicky Johnston, features a distinctive facade, players’ balconies and cricket bat balusters. Over the last 30 years, many of the world’s greatest players have had the opportunity to be invited to enjoy Wormsley. The Pavilion is filled with cricket memorabilia including plaques of those who have scored 100 runs or take five wickets for the Sir Paul Getty XI.
This unique venue steeped in history is the ideal venue for a small party looking to enhance their evening with fine dining and an unparalleled vista over the Cricket Ground.

Island Pavilion
Capacity up to 28 seated
Designed by Robin Snell, architect of our Opera Pavilion, the Island Pavilion is a contemporary light-filled structure. The beautiful surroundings make it a fitting home for extraordinary art installations, such as some of the Getty family’s sculpture collections.
Suitable for dinner for up to 28 guests, the Island Pavilion is the perfect private dining space for larger groups looking to enjoy Feasts dining in the seclusion and beauty of the lake overlooking the Opera Pavilion.
