Alvarez Young Artists' Support

Garsington Opera’s Alvarez Young Artists receive an unparalleled level of experience and guidance throughout the season and beyond.

This is a unique programme where our Alvarez Young Artists perform as part of the chorus for our operas, understudy roles and take small roles. In addition, the Alvarez Young Artists perform in a showcase in London, in our Walled Garden Recitals and in OperaFirst productions as part of GO Participate with local primary and secondary schools. With your support, Garsington can continue evolving the programme, allowing us to create a nurturing environment where singers can develop in all aspects of their careers.

By supporting our Alvarez Young Artists’ programme, you are contributing to the development of the next generation of world-class opera singers. Opera thrives on innovation and our programme encourages young artists to push boundaries and explore new ideas, ensuring that opera remains a vital and evolving art form.

We believe that opera should be accessible to everyone and by supporting our Alvarez Young Artists’ programme you are ensuring that talented individuals, regardless of their background, can have a future in opera, influencing the course of opera for generations to come.

“I’ve had the most wonderful summer working with Garsington Opera and am over the moon to have received this award. Covering the role of Mařenka in Garsington’s beautiful and much-loved production of The Bartered Bride has been an amazing learning experience and performing the role for the OperaFirst show was absolutely a career highlight! This award will be a huge help as I venture on to the next stage in my career and I’m very grateful for the support of the whole Garsington team throughout this season.”
